Stuck on today's LinkedIn Mini Sudoku? The answer is right above. Below, how today's puzzle works and three hints, if you'd rather solve it yourself. Other games today: Patches · Wend · Zip · Queens · Tango · Pinpoint · Crossclimb.

Mini Sudoku #420 opens with 16 givens on the 6×6 grid. The givens are not laid out symmetrically today, so scan every box rather than trusting a pattern. Counting the givens: four 4s, four 6s, three 1s, three 3s and two 2s. One cell is decided before you place anything: row 1, column 1.

Hints

Hint 1: where to start

Write a 5 at row 1, column 1; every other digit already sits in its row, its column or its box.

Hint 2: a solid foothold

Then row 2, column 3 must be a 6: nothing else fits once you check the row, the column and the 2×3 box.

Hint 3: nearly there

Then write a 4 at row 2, column 1; the other five digits are all taken in that row, column or box. The remaining cells follow the same three checks.
