In GridPuzzles Classic mode, two Red velvet cupcakes make the Golden crown: 1024 + 1024 = 2048. The crown is the winning tile. A total score of 2048 is a different thing, and a rainbow cupcake shown in another site's guide may belong to a different edition.

Keep this reference beside the 2048 Cupcakes game if the pictures are still unfamiliar. Turn on Numbers to see a tile's value while you learn the designs. You don't have to memorise the whole shelf before making your next move.

The Classic cupcake order

The values double at each step. The picture changes when a matching pair merges, not when your total score passes a particular number.

Tile value Cupcake in this version A feature to look for
2 Vanilla Plain pale frosting
4 Chocolate Brown frosting with light dots
8 Strawberry Pink frosting and a strawberry
16 Mint chip Green frosting with chocolate chips
32 Blueberry Purple-blue frosting and berries
64 Lemon Yellow frosting and a lemon slice
128 Sprinkle party White frosting with coloured sprinkles
256 Cherry Pink frosting with one cherry

The pink designs are worth checking carefully. Strawberry is 8, while Cherry is 256. Their colour alone doesn't tell you whether they match. The fruit on top and the numeric badge settle it.

Use the badge when pictures look alike

Two Lemon tiles can become a Sprinkle party tile because 64 + 64 = 128. A Lemon and a Blueberry can't merge in Classic, even if they are next to each other. If they slide together, one stops beside the other.

The Galaxy illustration is reused for values above 4096. At that point, two similar-looking Galaxy cupcakes can have different values. Keep Numbers on and check the badges before expecting a merge.

The crown and the score tell you different things

Your score adds the value created by each merge. Making an 8 adds 8 points; later combining that 8 with another 8 adds 16 more. Those points accumulate, but they aren't a tile you can move or combine.

You can therefore have more than 2048 points without a 2048 cupcake on the tray. To check for a Classic win, look for the Golden crown carrying the 2048 badge. You can continue after reaching it and work toward Galaxy.

Check the mode before using a chart

This table is for the doubling rules used in Classic. Fibonacci uses the same cupcake artwork along a different number sequence: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 and onward. Its Golden crown is 144, not 2048. A familiar picture doesn't mean the matching rule is unchanged.

Older photo-based cupcake editions also use their own flavour names and calorie labels. This chart describes the drawings on GridPuzzles, not those photographs. The earlier Cupcakes edition is a useful visual comparison, but its legend isn't a substitute for the table above.

Try one check before returning to the tray

You have two Cherry cupcakes in Classic. What will their merge produce: Double chocolate, Red velvet or Golden crown?

Show the answer

Double chocolate. Each Cherry is 256, so the result is 512. Another 512 is needed to make Red velvet at 1024.

If matching the pictures is straightforward but placing the result is harder, the corner strategy walkthrough shows how a useful-looking merge can disturb the rest of the tray.
