Type your own words: this week's spelling list, a vocabulary unit, family names. Then print the sheet with an answer key, or send it as a link. Whoever opens the link plays your puzzle, and your message appears when they find the last word.
Questions
Is anything I type stored on your server?
No. The words, title and message are packed into the link itself (after the #, which browsers never send to a server). We keep no copy; anyone with the link can open it.
How many words can I use?
From 4 to 20 words, each 3 to 14 letters. Letters only: spaces, numbers and accents are dropped, so “Zoë” becomes ZOE. The grid grows if your words need more room.
Why was one of my words refused?
A word that sits inside another one (SNOW and SNOWMAN) would be found twice, so it is refused. So are words on our list of rude words.
Can I print it instead?
Yes. After making the link, press Print it for a sheet with an answer key.
Is the word search maker free?
Yes, with no sign-up and no limit on how many you make. It works for a class set too: press Print it, then New puzzle on the print page gives a different grid with the same words.
