Stuck on today's LinkedIn Queens? The answer is right above. Below, how today's puzzle works and three hints, if you'd rather solve it yourself. Other games today: Mini Sudoku · Patches · Wend · Zip · Tango · Pinpoint · Crossclimb.

A 7-queen board today; the regions range from a 1-cell purple patch to a 15-cell red one. One region is a single cell, at row 5, column 2. A region that stretches along a single row or column locks that whole line for its queen.

Hints

Hint 1: where to start

The purple region (1 cells, starting at row 5, column 2) is a single cell, so its queen is a gift. That queen ends up in row 5.

Hint 2: a solid foothold

Put a queen on row 5, column 2 and cross off the 16 cells it attacks or shares a region with.

Hint 3: nearly there

After that, row 4 has only 4 legal cells left: its queen goes at row 4, column 7. The remaining rows then fall one by one.
