Queens #840 is 7×7: one queen per row, per column and per colored region, and no two queens may touch, not even diagonally. The smallest region has only 2 cells, so its queen has just 2 possible spots — start there. Every queen placed eliminates its row, its column and the eight cells around it — mark them as you go.

Hint 2 — a solid foothold
Place the first queen at row 3, column 3. Cross out row 3, column 3 and the cells touching it.
